>The cult classic Arrested Development, canceled by FOX in 2006, has been revived by Netflix with a new season available for streaming. Great—except that the show’s concept has been retooled and dulled. What was a crowded, briskly insane ensemble comedy about the ruthless, stupid Bluth clan is now shaped, over 15 episodes, around individual characters. There are still laughs, but also dead patches where jokes—one involving an ostrich—are replayed from different perspectives. It can feel like shaking a snow globe, watching the flakes settle, then shaking it again.
