NASHVILLE’S HAIR SECRETS
THE ON-SET STYLISTS FOR THE ABC DRAMA SHARE THEIR BEST TIPS AND TRICKS
“Connie has long, thick, gorgeous hair, so we go for simple and effortless-looking styles,” says Melizah Anguiano Schmidt, Britton’s hairstylist on-set.
MUST-HAVE: “Connie doesn’t like a ton of product in her hair, so I use one ‘power product’ to make it count. A small amount of Biosilk Silk Pomade raked through the hair adds shine and holds the style.”
GETTING THE LOOK: For Rayna’s red carpet looks, she mists the hair with styling spray and uses a paddle brush to detangle and smooth. Then she uses three curling irons—½”, 1″ and 2″—to create different-size curls.

“Juliette’s hair is always away from her face,” said Janice Kinigopoulos, Panettiere’s set stylist. “Even if she has bangs, we put them to the side.”
MUST-HAVE: “Hayden doesn’t like hair spray,” says Kinigopoulos, so after blow-drying and flatironing her hair, she finishes with Tancho High-Grade Tique stick styling balm. “It’s a lovely wax stick with a lavender scent. It holds the hair without being sticky.”
GETTING THE LOOK: Kinigopoulos uses an Amika curling iron to create loose waves. “I like clampless irons because they make softer, more natural-looking curls.”

“Scarlett has a very distinct style,” said Kinigopoulos, who does Bowen’s hair on-set. “It’s beautiful, mermaidy hair with a more Bohemian feel.”
MUST-HAVE: “Leonor Greyl’s Serum de Soie Sublimateur makes Clare’s hair so shiny but in a natural way. It’s light, so you don’t need a lot to make an impact.”
GETTING THE LOOK: Kinigopoulos often braids ribbons into Clare’s hair, attaching them with a mini bobby pin then braiding two sections of hair with the ribbon. For stage looks, she relies on sparkly headbands. “It’s more refined but still very Clare.”

THESE GLAMOUR GIRLS STOLE THE SHOW ON THE RED CARPET
The Female Vocalist of the Year winner accessorized her crystal-covered Randi Rahm gown with Kimberly McDonald danglers.
The singer was flapper-chic in her Oscar de la Renta dress with David Yurman jewels and a beaded de la Renta clutch.
Swift showed some skin in a J.Mendel crop top and skirt (with a serious slit!) and black strappy Casadei sandals.
Hill dazzled in a demure Saint Laurent gown with a sexy deep-V neckline.

“I wanted to create an elegant palette to match the outfit,” says makeup artist Francesca Tolot. “I went for a heavy, graphic eye with some shimmer and a nude lip with a hint of peach to keep it neutral and soft.”

“We were going for a ’70s kind of vibe,” says hairstylist Lorenzo Martin. He used a 1-in. curling iron to create curls, let them set, then he back-brushed the hair and misted with thickening spray for a tousled effect.

Faith’s diamond pendant, earrings, bangles and rings—all from jeweler Martin Katz—add up to 46.49 carats. The price tag? $449,900.
The singer paired her gown with pewter Saint Laurent platforms and a navy Ferragamo clutch. “When you have a dress that’s a solid tone, it’s nice to add a different color that complements it,” says Hill’s stylist Petra Flannery. “It felt very fresh.”
