These are off-peak times in the movie business; those new films that are worthwhile are mostly of the off-the-beaten-track variety. Fans who prefer big deal cinema, however, can look forward in the next six weeks or so to: Cadillac Man, with Robin Williams as a womanizing car salesman and Tim Robbins as a vengeful husband; Bird on a Wire, with Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn as reunited lovers; Days of Thunder, with Tom Cruise as an auto racer. There’s also Back to the Future 3, but hard-core sequelphiles have to wait a bit longer for this summer’s bumper crop: RoboCop 2, Die Hard 2, Young Guns II, Gremlins 2, Another 48 Hrs. and Exorcist III.
