Consult the Yellow Pages for money-making books
Like any antique, the value of a good old book increases with age. Just last December a slim 36-page manuscript entitled Codex Leicester, by Leonardo da Vinci, was sold on London’s auction block to Occidental Petroleum President Armand Hammer for a record $5.1 million. Don’t expect that much from run-of-the-press first editions, but books can be sound investments. While bookstores sometimes stock rarities, many listed below specialize in them and will send catalogs upon request.
