The Lady Antebellum trio of (from left) Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood are no strangers to the recording studio: They just polished off their eponymous debut album in January. But their most recent session came with a bit of added pressure. “Someone called and asked if we had a song for the Olympics, with a theme of triumph and perseverance,” says cowriter Scott. The result? “I Was Here,” which will debut during NBC’s Olympic broadcast this summer. Says Scott, 22: “This song is about leaving a mark and leaving a legacy that people will remember.”
