Brad Goreski, 37—the soon-to-be cohost of Fashion Police—announced Dec. 7 that he and writer-producer Gary Janetti are engaged. The two cele-brated this past August in Greece, where they first met more than 13 years ago.

COSBY UPDATE

Bill Cosby, 77, faces yet another accusation, this time from supermodel Beverly Johnson, 62, who claims he drugged her at his Manhattan apartment in the 1980s. In a Dec. 11 Vanity Fair essay, she says the Cosby Show star made her a cup of coffee—and she knew by the second sip that she had been drugged. The former Vogue cover model says she yelled at him and he threw her out of his house. “By telling my story, it allowed me to shine a light and reveal that the shame of being sexually abused is often kept in the dark,” Johnson, who has no plans to sue at this time, told PEOPLE. The comedy legend has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a number of women, claims he has strenuously denied.

Malala’s Prize-Winning Moment

Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai, 17, and Indian child-rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi, 60, received their joint Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo on Dec. 10. Yousafzai (at the torch-lit parade in their honor) said the award was not just for her: “It is for those forgotten children who want education. It is for those frightened children who want peace.”

Tragic End for a VH1 Star

Stephanie Moseley was shot by her husband

On Dec. 10—two days after dancer and Hit the Floor star Stephanie Moseley, 30, and her husband, rapper Earl Hayes, 34, were found dead in their home— Los Angeles police confirmed that Hayes shot Moseley to death before taking his own life. The network said in a statement, “VH1 and the entire Hit the Floor family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time.”

AILING

Angelina Jolie, 39, just got a not-so-welcome surprise. The mom of six has been diagnosed with chicken pox, which forced her to miss several events supporting her latest directorial effort, Unbroken. “I will be home, itching and missing everyone,” she said in a video released on Dec. 12. “I can’t believe it because this film means so much to me.”

COURTS

Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Angelea Preston, 28, filed a $3 million lawsuit against Tyra Banks, 41, and The CW on Dec. 10 in Los Angeles. Preston claims she was wrongfully disqualified because she once worked as an escort. The network has said the suit “has no merit.”

DEATHS

Former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley died on Dec. 9 at age 77. Mobley, who won the 1959 crown, had been battling cancer. • Fox News journalist Domini Di-Nataler died on Dec. 11 in an apparent suicide. The reporter, who covered the riots in Ferguson, Mo., was 43.

The Mysteries of Laura star hits the street to help New York City’s homeless

Winter months are a brutal time in New York City, even if you have a home. So as a proud New Yorker, I teamed up with Direct Relief and Curél Skincare to distribute care packages for the city’s homeless. These were filled with basic personal-care items that we all take for granted. It was very humbling just to see the gratitude in their faces, and it was a gift to me to be there and help. As a mom, it’s really important for me to explain to my son [Roman, 10] what programs like this one are about and to teach by example. He’s very compassionate; he’s gone through his closet and pulled out clothes to give to an orphanage. I want to include him so that he understands that everybody can make a difference. It’s always our obligation to try.
