Howard Stern’s longtime sidekick Robin Quivers, 61, revealed on-air that she had been battling cancer for 15 months. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment for a tumor doctors found on her uterus. Quivers, who worked from home during her recovery, said her doctors told her she was cured about three months ago.


Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, 23, pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge and five other counts, including weapons possession, on Sept. 6. Hernandez was indicted in August for the murder of his friend Odin Lloyd, a semiprofessional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend. Authorities say Lloyd was shot five times in a park near Hernandez’s home. The ex gridiron star is currently being held at a county jail without bail but reserves the right to request bail later, according to the Associated Press. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 9.
