DISMISSED On Aug. 26 a federal judge in Savannah, Ga., officially signed off on a deal to dismiss a lawsuit accusing celebrity chef Paula Deen, 66, and her brother Earl “Bubba” Hiers, 59, of sexual and racial harassment. The suit was brought by Lisa Jackson, former manager of Deen’s Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House restaurant. Both sides agreed to pay their own court costs and legal fees. The ruling comes two months after the Food Network and several other companies terminated their relationship with Deen after her deposition included revelations that she had used the N-word. ENGAGED The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong (inset), 42, is getting married. Her boyfriend, lawyer John Bluher, popped the question on Aug. 22 in Mexico. “Taylor was beautiful and never stopped smiling,” Bluher, 55, said about the proposal. This will be Armstrong’s second marriage. She was previously married to Russell Armstrong, who committed suicide in 2011. Together they were parents to daughter Kennedy. LEGAL TROUBLE David Cassidy, 63, a former ’70s teen idol and star of The Partridge Family, was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Schodack, N.Y., on Aug. 21. According to police reports, the actor failed a breath and field-sobriety test and was booked at Rensselaer County Jail. He was released on $2,500 bail hours after his arrest. Cassidy was charged with a felony due to a prior drunk-driving conviction in 2011. BABY ON BOARD Rosie Pope, 33, founder of Rosie Pope Maternity and star of Bravo’s Pregnant in Heels, is expecting baby No. 4 with her husband, Daron Pope, 35. “We feel blessed, and the rest of our brood are excited to have another baby in the house,” she told People. The new tot will join James, 5, Wellington, 2, and Vivienne May, 15 months. STAGE LEGEND JULIE HARRIS DIES Julie Harris, the grande dame of theater who was awarded a record six Tony Awards and appeared in more than 30 Broadway plays, died Aug. 24 of congestive heart failure in West Chatham, Mass. She was 87. In addition to her theatrical work, Harris drew attention for her screen performances, which included 1955’s East of Eden with James Dean and 1988’s Gorillas in the Mist. She also became a household name with TV viewers as Lilimae Clements on the CBS soap opera Knots Landing during the 1980s. “Acting is my greatest joy,” Harris had said. “There’s nothing like it.” She is survived by her son, Peter Gurian.
