It’s diaper duty again for Ringer star Sarah Michelle Gellar, 35, and 24 actor Freddie Prinze Jr., 36. The couple welcomed a baby boy last week in Los Angeles. The little one joins big sister Charlotte Grace, 3.
Wedding bells will be ringing for Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The Modern Family star, 36, and his boyfriend, lawyer Justin Mikita, 27, revealed in a video they posted on the marriage-equality website Tie the Knot that Ferguson “popped the big Q.” The actor then jokingly said as an aside that Mikita answered “a little too eagerly, if you ask me.”
Shakira’s life just got a lot busier. The Grammy-winning artist, 35, who is set to appear as a coach next season on The Voice, announced on her website that she and her boyfriend Gerard Piqué, 25, “are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!”
Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, 32, wore a tuxedo jacket and a wide smile as Emily Ward, 27, and their Irish wolfhound Charlotte walked down the aisle at their home in Nashville. As 350 guests, including bandmate Dan Auerbach, 33, looked on, comedian Will Forte, 42, officiated the ceremony.
One Day at a Time star Bonnie Franklin (inset), 68, is being treated for pancreatic cancer. Mackenzie Phillips, 52, who played her daughter on the show, tweeted, “Sending out love and sweet prayers to my ‘mom.'” • Good Morning America host Robin Roberts, 51, underwent a bone marrow transplant on Sept. 20 to treat myelodysplastic syndrome, a deadly blood disorder. Her coanchor George Stephanopoulos, 51, marvels at her spirit: “What is so admirable is the clear-eyed, inspiring way she is attacking it.”
On Sept. 19 Lindsay Lohan allegedly ran her car into Jose Rodriguez. Lohan, 26, then went to a club while he was taken to the hospital. The police charged Lohan with leaving the scene of an accident. Her rep called the claim “untrue.” • Amanda Bynes, 26, has added legal woes. The actress-who on Sept. 12 was ordered by a judge not to drive without a valid driver’s license but was pulled over and had her car impounded four days later-was charged Sept. 21 with two counts of driving with a suspended license. She is already facing unrelated hit-and-run and DUI charges. Bynes responded to the DUI charge by saying, “I don’t drink and drive. It is all false.”
GREEN DAY FRONTMAN HEADS TO REHAB
On Sept. 23 the band Green Day announced that lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, 40-who in the past has acknowledged drug use-will be “seeking treatment for substance abuse” and apologized “to those we offended.” Two days earlier Armstrong had launched into a profanity-laced tirade and smashed his guitar after learning that the group’s performance was being cut short during the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. The Grammy-winning band also postponed promotional appearances for their new album ¡Uno!
