The five-year marriage of Tom Cruise, 50, and Katie Holmes, 33, is officially over. A New York judge finalized their divorce on Aug. 20, marking a swift end to their breakup. The couple are said to remain on amicable terms for the sake of daughter Suri, 6, who lives with her mom in New York and gets liberal visitation with her dad.

BABY

The Dictator’s Anna Faris, 35, and husband, Parks and Recreation actor Chris Pratt, 33, are now parents. A rep for Faris told PEOPLE Aug. 25 that the actress gave birth prematurely to son Jack in an L.A.-area hospital. The baby remains in a neonatal intensive care unit. “The happy parents thank you for your warm wishes,” the rep said in a statement. • Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi (inset) can add Mother to her credits. The reality star, 24, and fiance Jionni LaValle, 25, welcomed their first child, Lorenzo Dominic, on Aug. 26 in Livingston, N.J. “Being a mom is an amazing feeling!” she tweeted hours after the birth.

MARRIED

Rosie “O’Donnell is a married woman! The TV personality, 50, revealed Aug. 27 in a blog post that she and her fiancee Michelle Rounds, 41, had secretly wed on June 9 in New York. O’Donnell, who recently suffered a heart attack, moved up their wedding date, originally planned for August, when Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors. Once they are both well enough, O’Donnell wrote, “[We’ll] have the wedding of [our] dreams surrounded by those we cherish.” • Singer Rufus Wainwright, 39, wed his longtime partner Jorn Weisbrodt in Montauk, N.Y., Aug. 23. Guests included Julianne Moore, Yoko Ono and Carrie Fisher. The couple got engaged in 2010.

ENGAGED

Former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford, 52, is set to marry Maria Belen Chapur, the Argentine woman at the center of the affair that ended his previous 20-year marriage as well as his political career. Sanford proposed Aug. 22 in Buenos Aires. “Yes, we are engaged,” he told CNN, “and I’m both happy and excited for what that means.” In 2009 he disappeared from South Carolina for five days, saying that he was hiking the Appalachian Trail. The father of four later admitted that he had been in Argentina with Chapur.

EXPECTING

Hawaii Five-0 star Alex O’Loughlin, 36, and his girlfriend, model Malia Jones, 35, are expecting their first child together. Both have children from previous relationships.

LANCE ARMSTRONG BANNED FROM CYCLING

Road-racing cyclist Lance Armstrong, 40, announced Aug. 23 that he will no longer contest accusations brought by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his career. As a result, the USADA has banned him from competing in bike races for life and recommended that he be stripped of his record seven Tour de France wins. “There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, ‘Enough is enough.’ For me, that time is now,” said Armstrong. On losing his titles: “I know who won those seven Tours. Nobody can ever change that.”
