LEGAL MATTERS

On Oct. 30 in L.A. two paparazzi were temporarily ordered to stay 100 yards away from Nicole Richie, 28, her daughter Harlow, 22 months, and son Sparrow, 2 months. The former Simple Life star said the photographers “scream at me in an attempt to get my reaction, scare me, follow me, chase me in [their] vehicle.” She also claims one of the men rear-ended her car in an Oct. 5 accident. A hearing is set for Nov. 16 to determine whether to extend the orders. The photographers could not be reached for comment. • Ryan Seacrest (inset), 34, was granted a restraining order in L.A. Oct. 30 against a man charged with stalking the American Idol host. Earlier that day Chidi Uzomah, 25, was arrested by police after allegedly entering the offices of E! Entertainment TV with a folding knife in search of Seacrest. Prior to the incident he was on probation for attacking the TV and radio personality’s security guard in September. A hearing to determine whether to grant a three-year restraining order is set for Nov. 17.

BIRTHS

It’s a boy for actor Colin Farrell, 33, and his girlfriend, Polish actress Alicja Bachleda, 26, who welcomed Henry Tadeusz in Los Angeles Oct. 7. This is the second child for the Irishman, who has a son James, 6, with his ex-love, model Kim Bordenave. • Czech supermodel and actress Karolina Kurkova, 25, and her fiancé, producer Archie Drury, 38, welcomed their first child, son Tobin Jack, in New York Oct. 29. • Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller, 32, the most decorated American gymnast in history, and her husband, John Falconetti, had Baby No. 1, son John Rocco, on Oct. 28.

SPLIT

The wife of actor Corey Feldman, 38, filed for divorce after seven years of marriage in L.A. Oct. 22. Susie, 27, an actress, is seeking sole custody of their son Zen, 5, with visitation rights for Feldman. “Corey is deeply hurt and saddened by this unexpected change in their relationship and has done nothing to contribute to the demise of the marriage,” his rep said in a statement.

RECOVERING

Sir Elton John, 62, has been forced to postpone several U.S. concerts after being stricken by an E. coli bacterial infection and the flu, his Web site announced Nov. 1. The British singer, who is being treated at a London hospital, pulled out of shows in Seattle and Portland, Ore., as part of the Face2Face tour with fellow piano man Billy Joel.

TRYING TIMES

Actor Nicolas Cage, 45, lost his father, August Coppola, 75, on Oct. 27 when he died of a heart attack in L.A. The brother of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola taught literature at San Francisco State University before serving as its dean of the School of Creative Arts. Less than two weeks earlier, Cage sued his longtime business manager Samuel J. Levin for $20 million. The Oct. 16 suit alleges that Levin “lined his [own] pockets with several million dollars in business management fees while sending Cage down a path toward financial ruin.” The Oscar winner allegedly owes the IRS more than $6 million in taxes and has begun liquidating many of his properties. A hearing with Levin, who did not return calls seeking comment, is set for February 2010.
