Singer-actress Mandy Moore, 24, is set to marry rock musician Ryan Adams, 34, her off-and-on boyfriend of one year. A wedding date has not been announced.


It’s another boy for actor Kevin Costner, 54, and wife Christine, 34, a handbag designer, who had their second child together, Hayes, in L.A. Feb. 12. The couple have son Cayden, 21 months. • Singer M.I.A., 31, who performed on her due date at the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards, and her fiancé, rocker Benjamin Bronfman, 26, had a son in L.A. Feb. 11. The London-born first-time mother, who has not revealed the baby’s name, described him on her MySpace blog as “healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet,” jokingly adding, “of course, I’m his mum!”


A third baby is on the way for Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino, 41, and her husband, actor Christopher Backus, 27. The pair have daughter Mattea, 4, and son Johnny, 2. • Grammy-winning Colombian singer Juanes, 36, and his wife, model-actress Karen Martinez, are awaiting their third child. The new arrival will join big sisters Luna, 5, and Paloma, 3.


Prince Harry (inset), 24, has been ordered by his army bosses to enroll in an “equality and diversity” course after being caught on video using the ethnic slur “Paki” in reference to a fellow soldier. “Prince Harry has said he is sorry for his remarks,” says a rep for his office at St. James’s Palace. “He has been subjected to the normal army disciplinary procedures.”


Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, 23, will not be charged after a photo of him surfaced showing him smoking from a marijuana pipe, a South Carolina sheriff said Feb. 16. The picture was taken at a party during the 14-time gold medalist’s visit to the University of South Carolina last November. • Former Charlie’s Angels star Farrah Fawcett, 62, filed a suit in L.A. Feb. 13 over the sale of her famous 1976 swimsuit photo through and other outlets. The actress, who is seeking at least $100,000 in damages, is accusing Bio-Graphics Inc., PIE International Inc. and author T.N. Trikilis of falsely claiming rights to the picture. Reps for the defendants could not be reached for comment.


British singer Amy Winehouse, 25, was hospitalized Feb. 13 and released the same day in St. Lucia, where she has been vacationing for the past two months. “Amy is happy at the moment, and she may come back to Britain soon,” says her rep, who would not disclose the reason for the hospital stint. “She’s enjoying herself. She has gone back to music and normal life.”


Beverly Eckert, 57, a 9/11 widow who successfully lobbied for a federal commission to investigate the terrorist attacks, was among the 50 who died when Continental flight 3407 crashed into a house in Clarence Center, N.Y., Feb. 12. She was on her way to a ceremony to present a scholarship in honor of her husband, business executive Sean Rooney, who died while working in the World Trade Center.
