Rock duo the White Stripes canceled their tour dates through the end of the year due to drummer Meg White’s acute anxiety. White and ex-husband Jack White, both 32, had called off their September shows for the same reason.
An L.A. judge refused on Sept. 11 to dismiss portions of a negligence suit against Lindsay Lohan, 21, over an October 2005 accident in which her convertible collided with a van. Raymundo Ortega sued the actress June 14 and is seeking at least $200,000 in damages, although the California Highway Patrol concluded that he caused the crash by making an illegal U-turn. A court date has been set for April 7…. Country singer Mindy McCready, 31, was sentenced in Franklin, Tenn., Sept. 14 to a year in jail for violating her probation stemming from a 2004 drug conviction. She was jailed July 21, when her mother, Melody Inge, 52, accused McCready of scratching her during an altercation at Inge’s Fort Myers, Fla., home. (The singer denied the allegation.) Charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest, McCready was eventually released on $1,000 bail. She then flew to Tennessee, where she resides, and was taken into custody and booked on the probation offense…. Music producer Carlos Evans, 36, sued rappers Lil’ Kim, 33, and 50 Cent, 32, and two record companies for $2 million in New York City Sept. 12 for allegedly failing to pay him royalties on their 2003 hit single “Magic Stick.” A lawyer for Rotten Apple Records Inc. told the Associated Press, “If after the accounting Mr. Evans is entitled to anything, he’ll get it then.” An Atlantic Records rep had no comment.

Brett Somers (inset), 83, best known for her witty quips on the 1970s quiz show Match Game, died of cancer at her home in Westport, Conn., Sept. 15. She also had a recurring role on The Odd Couple as the ex-wife of real-life husband Jack Klugman, 85, whom she had wed in 1953. The couple split in 1974.

Ioan Gruffudd, 33, star of the Fantastic Four movie series, wed Alice Evans, 36, who had a role on The Chris Isaak Show, in Los Cabos, Mexico, Sept. 14. The Welsh actor (inset, second from left, as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic) and his British bride exchanged vows in custom designs by Giorgio Armani for the ceremony at the One & Only Palmilla resort. “It was an intimate gathering,” a source close to the groom tells PEOPLE. “Friends and family traveled all over the world for it.” The couple met on the set of their 2000 film 102 Dalmatians.
