Charlene Richards filed a sexual harassment suit Jan. 26 in L.A. against Aaron Spelling, 82, father of actress Tori Spelling and producer of Dynasty and Beverly Hills, 90210. She alleges he asked for sexual favors when she was his private nurse in 2004. Last November, Spelling and his wife, Candy, 60, sued Richards for allegedly violating a confidentiality agreement and spreading rumors of sexual harassment. “There is absolutely nothing true about this suit,” said Spelling’s lawyer.
Gene McFadden, 56, who cowrote the 1979 hit “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now” with his songwriting partner John Whitehead, died Jan. 27 in Philadelphia of liver and lung cancer. The song received a Grammy nod.
Fayard Nicholas, 91, of the dancing Nicholas Brothers, died Jan. 24 in Toluca Lake, Calif., from pneumonia and complications of a stroke. He and his brother Harold (who died in 2000 at 79) tapped their way from Harlem’s Cotton Club into dozens of films, including 1943’s Stormy Weather.
