Spain’s Crown Prince Felipe, 36, wed former TV anchor-woman Letizia Ortiz, 31, in a lavish ceremony at Madrid’s Almudena Cathedral May 22. Before 1,400 guests—including Monaco’s Princess Caroline and former South African President Nelson Mandela—the divorced Ortiz, a commoner, walked up the aisle wearing an off-white silk gown by Spanish designer Manuel Pertegaz…. The Practice star Jessica Capshaw, 27, married child therapist Christopher Gavigan, 30, late last month at the East Hampton estate of her stepfather, director Steven Spielberg. The bride, whose mother is actress Kate Capshaw, wore a Vera Wang dress.

ENGAGED

The West Wing‘s Allison Janney, 44, and actor Richard Jenik, 36, recently became engaged on a trip to San Francisco. The couple plan their wedding for later this year.

EXPECTING

Actor Harvey Keitel, 65, and his wife of three years, Israeli actress and filmmaker Daphna Kastner, 43, are expecting their first child together this summer. Keitel also has two other children….

Julia Volkova, 19, half of the Russian pop duo t.A.T.u., is expecting a child with her boyfriend, Pasha Sidorov, a martial arts expert….

SPLIT

Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg (Soul Plane), 32, filed for divorce from his wife of almost seven years, Shanté Broadus, 28, May 21 in L.A. Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, is seeking joint custody of their three young children.

UPDATE

In a court appearance May 25 in Los Angeles, Courtney Love, 39, pleaded guilty to being under the influence of cocaine and agreed to enter a drug rehabilitation program. The rocker was arrested in October, after she threw rocks at the house of James Barber, her former boyfriend (PEOPLE, Oct. 20,2003).

GOODBYE

On May 25 Phish announced on its Web site that the band is breaking up, after more than 20 years. “Phish has run its course,” said the statement. The band will tour this summer, before a final show in their native Vermont in August.

DEATHS

Actor Richard Biggs, who recently starred in the soap opera Guiding Light but was best known for playing Dr. Franklin on TV’s Babylon 5 in the 1990s, died of undisclosed causes May 22 in L.A. He was 43.
