Deed and Misdeed

Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, 36, has agreed to purchase the $6 million Miami mansion of Madonna, 40. The longtime pals negotiated the sale without using a real estate agent. Meanwhile, on nearby Star Island, thieves absconded sometime last month with $250,000 worth of antique watches from the lush estate of singer Gloria Estefan, 41. Investigators searched her home but found no sign of forced entry. A spokesman for the Miami Beach police says they aren’t ruling out family or employees as suspects.

Gazillionaire Bill Gates, 43, the chairman of Microsoft, and his wife, Melinda, 34, a former employee in her husband’s empire, are expecting their second child in June. The couple’s daughter, Jennifer Katharine, is 2½….

Actor Johnny Depp, 35, and his latest amour, French actress-chanteuse Vanessa Paradis, 26, reportedly also have a baby on the way. Depp, who met the mother-to-be six months ago, split from his first wife, Lori Allison, in 1985.

In Court

On Dec. 3 a court in Stuttgart, Germany, convicted Grammy-winning singer Coolio (born Artis Ivey Jr.) of being an accessory to robbery and fined him $17,000. A shopkeeper said the 35-year-old rapper, who also got six months’ probation, punched her last year when she tried to prevent him and some band members from allegedly taking $940 worth of clothing without paying. Coolio claimed that the incident was a misunderstanding.

Inquiry

Sniffing for possible tax fraud, authorities in Germany have begun a lengthy probe into remunerations made in their country to singers Luclano Pavarotti, 63, Plácido Domingo, 58, and José Carreras, 52. The investigation arose from accusations made by promoter Matthias Hoffman—now in prison facing tax evasion charges—who said the stars were paid under the table. The Three Tenors are expected to defend themselves con brio.

Sued

The personal trainer who whipped Brendan Fraser into shape for last year’s surprise hit film George of the Jungle is suing the 30-year-old actor for unspecified damages. Daniel Field claims he did not receive the screen credit that Fraser promised him.

Law and Order

An L.A. judge has issued a temporary restraining order against the estranged husband of Sheena Easton, 39. She filed for divorce from documentary director Timothy Delarm, 39, in July after 11 months of marriage, but since then the Scottish songbird, who is mom to two adopted children (ages 4 and 2), claims he has been harassing and following her.

Mishap

After swerving to avoid hitting a horse on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Dec. 6, restaurateur Rande Gerber, 36, crashed his Jeep into a concrete mailbox, shattering the passenger window and slightly injuring his wife, Cindy Crawford, 32. Paramedics flushed the megamodel’s eyes with water as a precaution, but she was not hospitalized. Gerber was not injured.
