Rocker David Bowie, 44, and model-actress Iman, 35, have finally made it official: They will many in the spring. Bowie was wed once before, to Angie Barnett, and has a son, Joe (formerly called Zowie), 20. I man. currently starring in House Party 2, was previously married to former pro basketball player Spencer Haywood, with whom she has a daughter, Zulekha, 13.

Charlotte Moorman, 58, the Juilliard-trained cellist once called “the earth mother of the avant-garde,” died in New York City of cancer on Nov. 8. A supporter of such adventurous composers and artists as John Cage and Yoko Ono, Moorman first gained notoriety in 1967 when she was arrested for indecent exposure after performing Nam June Paik’s “Opera Sextronique” topless onstage. Later in her career, Moorman performed in a cellophane dress and a bra made from two small television sets….

Richard Afflis, 62, an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers (1951-54) who later became a pro wrestler known as Dick the Bruiser, died of internal bleeding in Largo, Fla., on Nov. 10.

Funnyman Robin Williams, 39, presumably is not laughing over the allegations of an ex-lover that he gave her herpes. Michelle Tish Carter, 28, filed a $6.2 million lawsuit in 1986, shortly after her two-year relationship with Williams ended, claiming that he had given her the sexually transmitted disease. Williams has countersued, saying Carter tested negative for the disease in 1986, falsely claimed she was pregnant when he tried to break up with her, and had attempted to extort $20,000 from him in exchange for not going public. On Nov. 7 a San Francisco judge denied Williams’s request to dismiss Carter’s case and ordered Williams to stand trial Jan. 13.

Singer Robert Palmer, 42, is evidently no longer addicted to the love of Sue, his artist wife of 21 years. The pair, who have a son, James, 13, and a daughter, Jane, 11, have split and put their Swiss mansion up for sale.

After years of fighting the good fight as rock’s most articulate spokesman against censorship, greed and brown shoes, Frank Zappa, 50, is battling for his life. The legendary composer behind the Freak Out and We’re Only in It for the Money albums has confirmed that he is suffering from prostate cancer. His daughter Moon said he is fighting the disease “successfully” and “has been feeling well.”
