It may have been the frustration of trailing in the fourth quarter. But after Camden High stopped a Del Mar sweep in San Jose, Calif., Del Mar fullback Pete Narlesky (31) got into it with Camden tackle Frank Nelson (not shown). Nelson had pulled Narlesky’s helmet off before ref Barry Dinius and Camden guard Steve Johnson (61) separated the combatants and nearly separated Narlesky’s head from the rest of him. It was a bad day all around for Pete. He was ejected. Camden won, 31-20. And when his parents wrote the photographer to compliment him on this picture, they touched on an obviously tender subject with the observation, “Now maybe he’ll get his hair cut.”
