Dessert of the Month

Makes: 32 cookies

Total time: 2 hrs., 30 min.

What You’ll Need:

1 (16-oz.) package peanut butter sandwich cookies

1 (6.4-oz.) can white decorating icing

Miniature M&Ms

Miniature pretzels

Red cinnamon candies

Red jelly candy coins

Granulated sugar

Black licorice candy

Red string licorice

Candy corn

HOW TO DO IT:

For reindeer: Break two pretzels to resemble antlers; insert into filling of sandwich cookie. Use decorating icing to attach candies for eyes and nose.

For Santa: Flatten candy coins between two sheets of waxed paper. Cut into hat shape; attach to cookie with icing. Outline mustache and beard with icing using a star tip. Fill in beard; make a pom-pom on hat. Attach licorice for eyes and cinnamon candies for nose with icing.

For snowman: Cover surface of cookie with icing; sprinkle with sugar. Flatten black licorice candy between two sheets of waxed paper. Cut into hat shape and attach to top of cookie using icing. Attach small licorice pieces for eyes and buttons and candy corn for nose. Cut a 4-inch piece of string licorice; wrap around cookie to form a scarf.
