“I thought stories like this only happened in the movies. To know this is a true story is bone-chilling”

Wow, after reading the story about Erica Hayes, who found out her parents were involved in multiple murder cases, I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around it. I would have thought the world was a little more innocent back then.

Given that he was with his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis for 14 years and has two kids with her, if I were Vanessa, I would be totally upset at Johnny Depp for getting engaged. It’s a real slap in the face.

I was delighted to read the Q&A with Bruce Dern. He’s one of my favorite actors, and I’m so happy that he’s receiving all the attention and accolades. His performance in Nebraska is simply amazing. Keep up the great work, Bruce.

The Bachelor’s homophobic comments about the hypothetical idea of a gay Bachelor are being blown out of proportion. If he wasn’t supposed to answer honestly, why did they ask him the question? If we are to accept others and believe in tolerance, doesn’t that go both ways? We are all human (which means we’re not perfect), and we are allowed to think and speak differently. Let’s learn from each other and be allowed to share without being judged.

Thanks for the fun and revealing article about Ms. Johansson. I’m happy that she has found love again. It’s refreshing to hear her talk about what she’s learned about love through her past relationships. I can relate to her.

In our Jan. 27 TV Reviews section, we incorrectly stated that the miniseries Klondike was filmed in the Canadian Klondike Mountains. The show was shot in the Klondike region of the Yukon as well as portions of the Canadian Rockies. We regret the error.

Hawaii Murder Solved

In our Dec. 23, 2013, issue, we featured a piece on the mysterious murder of Brittany Royal, a pregnant 25-year-old who was found dead off the coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. Her boyfriend Boaz Johnson, 22, disappeared after becoming a suspect in Royal’s death. On Jan. 2 unidentified remains were discovered hanging from a tree not far from the campsite the couple had shared. Police announced the find on Jan. 21, saying the remains were Johnson’s and that he had left a notebook confessing to Royal’s murder. “It’s really sad but also a relief,” Brittany’s mom, Julie Royal, tells PEOPLE. “We have our healing to do, and they have their healing to do.”
