ADELE

“I find it inspiring that Adele is so unaffected by her fame. All the best to her and her new family”

Brielle Nicholas

Adele is an extremely talented woman, and her songs are proof of this. I’m looking forward to more music from her, but I really respect the way she spent her pregnancy, taking it easy and putting her baby first. She is a positive role model who offers some lessons for all of us.

Adele is a beautiful lady with an unforgettable voice. Imagine all the wonderful lullabies her new baby will hear!

SCOOP

My heart goes out to Bobbi Kristina Brown as she struggles to cope with her mother’s untimely death. The comment that the 19-year-old is “still grieving” gave me pause. There are no time gates in the grieving process, and everyone goes at their own pace. Whitney has only been gone eight months, so her daughter needs more time to grieve. With the love and support of her family and friends, Bobbi Kristina will hopefully begin to live again.

STAR TRACKS

Congrats to Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, but when did marriage become all about the engagement ring? The huge sparklers celebrities often favor don’t guarantee a solid marriage. If they stayed focused on the basics, a lot more couples would make it to the finish line.

HOLLYWOOD AT HOME

You will probably get a few letters from readers who think Jeff Probst and the others in this story should give their money to the less fortunate instead of buying lavish homes. But I am happy for anyone who enjoys the fruits of their labor, whether it be a mansion or a large donation to charity. Successful people should not have to apologize for doing what they want with their own money. So, Jeff, please enjoy that fabulous house!

TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Robert Vega, one of the winners of your Teacher of the Year contest, said, “I love coming to school every day to teach music.” How refreshing to find someone who is devoted to his job and takes a personal interest in students. Our schools need more teachers like Mr. Vega.

DEVITO AND PERLMAN

While it’s sad that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman broke up, I applaud their 30 years of wedlock. They proved that a Hollywood marriage can last a long time, even in an industry that does not seem to value commitment.

STARS AND THEIR DOGS

It was nice to see that celebrities can be crazy about their pets. I guess most of us realize that in trying times, a dog that loves you is a comfort like no other.

TELEVISION ANCHOR TRIUMPHS

Jennifer Livingston, the news anchor whose eloquent response to a viewer’s disapproval of her plus-size figure sparked a coast-to-coast outpouring of support, had fans as well as detractors among our readers. “If people like Jennifer said no to the donuts,” wrote Betsy Bartlett of Lawrenceville, Ga., “we wouldn’t have an epidemic of obesity.” But Nancy Ahmann of San Diego praised Jennifer for “standing up against something hurtful that she knew was wrong.” Jennifer Levinson of Carmel, Calif., added that Livingston “can be a role model for my two teenage girls any day.”
