“As a radiant new bride, Chelsea Clinton is the epitome of grace, elegance and style”

Thomas Obuck, Ithaca, N.Y.

Politics aside, there’s no disputing that our former Presidents Clinton and Bush have raised some remarkable daughters. Chelsea Clinton is a beautiful bride, and her happiness is apparent and well-deserved.

Mazel Tov to Chelsea and Marc! I have never seen a couple so much in love. The way Chelsea and Marc gaze at each other makes every parent want the same love for their own children when they get married.

It is so wonderful to see Chelsea’s transformation over the years from a teenager to a lovely, poised woman. And finally a bride who knows how to carry a bouquet properly to show off her gorgeous Vera Wang gown.

Considering the current recession, aren’t the amount of money and the media coverage lavished on this wedding a bit obsessive and vulgar? I find it sad that modern couples are putting more time and effort into the appearance of the wedding day rather than the life that comes after it.

As a veteran, military spouse and mother, I heartily applaud former Marine Kimberly Felshaw for the wonderful job she does throwing baby showers for military families. When pregnant with my first child, I almost didn’t have a shower because I was away from home with no family and very few friends. I am so thankful for the support I eventually did receive that day, but it taught me firsthand that baby expenses can make an already stressful living situation that much more difficult.

Having adored Mark Wahlberg since his Marky Mark days, I really enjoyed the questions he answered about his day-to-day routine. How great that such a well-known actor still makes sure that family and religion are an important part of his life. I wish Mark, his wife and his children continued blessings.

As the self-appointed president of the Ali & Roberto fan club, I couldn’t be happier that they ended up as a couple. Now I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that these two lovebirds can stay together long enough to make some beautiful babies.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Ali and Roberto and all the other contestants appear on these reality “love” shows for one reason and one reason only: to get famous! These people should never be covered like celebrities but rather like the publicity seekers that they are.

Our article about Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol breaking off a second engagement to Levi Johnston brought a mixed response from our readers. Some felt that Bristol, despite a few missteps, was doing the best she could. “Bristol obviously has a good heart,” wrote Kristen McKay of Toronto. “I hope she stays strong and doesn’t let Levi’s immature antics interfere with her loving spirit.” But several correspondents wrote that Bristol should complain less and be thankful that she has the kind of support structure others don’t. Declared Justine Higerd of Colby, Kans.: “There are not many single moms out there who have it as good as you do.”
