After cancer treatment made it unlikely that Schwartz could bear a child, Brenner carried her sister’s embryo to term; but four months before she delivered, against all odds, Schwartz herself became pregnant. “This was such a touching article,” writes Rhonda Bird of Levelland, Texas. “To give your sister a baby is the most unselfish thing anyone could do.” Amanda Richey of Greeneville, Tenn., adds, “This proves that through love, anything is possible.” The sisters have received hundreds of inspirational calls and e-mails about the story, and the babies are both doing well.
