Her birthday’s not till November, but Scarlett Johansson didn’t let that stand in her way when she decided to throw herself an Aug. 12 “Un-Birthday Bonanza” in London, where she’s currently shooting a Woody Allen film. Johansson and a friend invited a bunch of pals to West End’s exclusive Kingly Club for a Gone with the Wind-themed soiree. The 100 or so guests sipped Scarlett cocktails (champagne, strawberry vodka and fresh strawberries) and watched a video of Rhett Butler and that other Scarlett on a high-definition TV. Meanwhile the hostess got comfy with her new beau, actor Jared Leto. “She was sitting on his lap,” says a partygoer. “They were kissing a lot.”

Call him Tennessee William. Prince William dropped out of the London scene for a week to go to Nashville and visit his friend Anna Sloan, a 22-year-old college student. (According to a family friend, the two are close pals—but nothing more—who got to know each other at school in Scotland.) The royal heir, 22, stayed at Sloan’s farm in Williamson County, where he “swam in the pool and mostly socialized at the house,” says a Nashville source. William also hit a local mall with five friends, picking up a pair of blue jeans at Abercrombie & Fitch. After having dinner at Sperry’s, an upscale restaurant, he and 15 pals split the $600 tab. Says the source: “It was just a low-key vacation in the country.”

Madonna celebrated her 46th birthday Aug. 16 in London. First she and Guy Ritchie shared a cozy lunch at Smiths of Smithfield. “The kids [Lourdes and Rocco] came for 30 minutes [with an escort], then left in a taxi,” says a witness. That night the Ritchies attended a private party at the night club Sketch, where vodka and Red Bull was the drink of choice among the 100 guests. At 12:30 a.m. the couple headed home after their chauffeur loaded gifts into their limo.

High school dropout Jack Osbourne is studying for his GED. “It’s a 12-hour test, and it’s harder than people think it is,” says Osbourne, who hopes to take the exam next spring. “No one in our family’s got their high school diploma, so I might as well be the first.”…

Matthew Perry just came back from an 11-day vacation in Bermuda with friends. “I did a bunch of water stuff like parasailing,” he says….

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Mira Sorvino and Jennifer Garner turned up at the Brentwood home of producer Jennifer Klein (Pearl Harbor) for her annual girls-only party. The celebs indulged in manicures, eyebrow shaping and eyelash tinting, and each left with a duffel bag filled with cosmetics and other goodies.
