Getting Inside the In Crowd

The Friday-night party at Spider Club on June 17 bumped like an all-star edition of TRL as Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Pink and a host of other celebs packed the house and commandeered neighboring tables by the dance floor. At 11 p.m., Kirsten Dunst and a gaggle of pals were the first to arrive, though she came without her on-again guy Jake Gyllenhaal, who was surfing in Hawaii. A half hour later Pink turned up, also sans boyfriend (The Surreal Life star Carey Hart), and giddily danced around her table with a friend. Jessica and husband Nick Lachey strolled in around midnight and sat in a booth near the deejay. After 10 minutes together, Jessica got up to go drink and chat with some buddies. The not-so-Newlyweds didn’t reunite again until 2 a.m., when they got together briefly to bump and grind to the music. Then Jessica settled down to talk to Wilmer Valderrama, who was sitting in the next booth. (Valderrama, of course, is tight with Jessica’s sis Ashlee.) Across the room, Aguilera and her fiancé, Jordan Bratman, held court over her posse. The singer didn’t seem to notice that Mandy Moore was parked one booth over. (Moore’s beau, Zach Braff, was MIA.) The last to join the star-filled bash (hosted by L.A. party promoter Brent Bolthouse) was Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson, who rolled in with his wife, Kristin, around 1 a.m. to celebrate their fifth anniversary.
