When a fireworks display lit up the sky at the Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas Aug. 7, guests spilled out onto their balconies to watch. But that was all that Jewel and Ty Murray, who had secretly wed on a secluded beach that evening, were willing to share of their celebration. They danced under the fireworks, and Murray said the next day, “It felt like we were the only ones in the world.” And that was just the way they wanted it. After 10 years together, the singer, 34, and the rodeo star, 39, decided to elope to their favorite vacation spot. After Murray proposed on her birthday, May 23, the couple kept their plans a secret, inviting only Jewel’s former keyboardist Jason Freese, who was ordained online and officiated, and his wife. After the ceremony, the duo called their families to break the news. Says Jewel: “It couldn’t have been more perfect.”
