Hollywood at Home

THE GAME ROOM

Now this is brotherly love. Identical twins Drew and Jonathan Scott not only work together hosting HGTV’s hit Property Brothers, they also share a newly renovated Las Vegas compound. But they want to make one thing clear: “People assume that we’re in bunk beds,” Jonathan says. “But the house is vast enough that we have very separate areas.” And they share those spaces with very different company. Drew’s girlfriend Linda Phan, 29, who works for the brothers’ production company, moved into Drew’s room, while Jonathan counts his chihuahua, Gracie, and his Yorkie, Stewie, as his roommates. But since they travel for work more than 10 months a year, they rarely cross paths. “Jonathan is here a couple of times a month, and I’m only here a couple of times a year,” says Drew.

Which is why for those rare occasions the Canadian-born brothers, 36, are not on the move, it was important for Drew, a Realtor, and Jonathan, a contractor and designer, to reimagine their 5,400-sq.-ft. home as the ideal place to catch up with their friends and relatives— and each other. (The project will be featured in a four-part HGTV special, beginning Nov. 26.) “We wanted this to be the family hub,” says Drew. “We have everything people could want.” That means a big-screen TV for their movie-loving dad, Jim, a hot tub for mom Joanne and a game room for older brother JD, 38, who lives nearby. The guys also have their own indulgences, such as the folding wall of windows in the living room that opens up onto the pool area (“I like the inside of the house spilling out,” says Drew) and a two-story water slide. The house is so action-packed, the Scotts rarely feel the need to hit the Strip. “We’re not here to see the Vegas everyone comes to see,” says Jonathan. “For us, it’s coming home to relax.”

THE BEDROOMS

Jonathan’s BEDROOM

“I wanted my room to be soft and inviting,” he says. “There are overarching Mediterranean influences, and the whole palette is calm and serene.” He also built custom shelves to put his favorite decor on dis-play. “I like everything to be a conversation piece,” he says. “Not that I have a lot of people in my room!”

Drew’s BEDROOM

“You can use one feature as a center point for your design,” says Drew. Here, “the dark-blue side tables inspired the striped fabric and artwork.” He commissioned the paintings after seeing a similar triptych while in Paris with girlfriend Linda Phan. “That’s one of our favorite cities,” says Drew, who decorated the room with Phan in mind. “I want her to feel that we were there on vacation.”
