What’s Ali Fedotowsky’s approach to finding true love on The Bachelorette? Give it the old college try. As a psychology major at Clark University, “I learned that how men communicate can be a major indicator of whether a marriage works,” says Fedotowsky, who makes her Bachelorette debut May 24. “I wanted to be with a guy who was emotionally intelligent.”

And well traveled. The Williamstown, Mass., native, 25, visited Iceland, Portugal and Tahiti for fairy-tale dates with some of her 25 suitors. “I’ve never kissed more than one guy in a month, never mind a day!” she says, lamenting that her Bachelorette duties left little time for exercise. “I packed on a good 10 lbs.,” she groans. “Nothing fits!”

On last season’s Bachelor, she won reality fame for abandoning her pursuit of Jake Pavelka to return to her job as an account manager at Facebook. Soon after, “it became clear to me that love is much more important to me than a job.” Did she make a love connection this time around? “I’m happy,” she says coyly. “I’ll tell you that.”
