PHILLIP SWEET & JIMI WESTBROOK
LITTLE BIG TOWN
Phillip: We play ball on the road quite a bit. If there’s an open field, we get the football out.
Jimi: We’re competitive, but not to the point where we’ll hurt one another. We never let it get weird.
Phillip: Although it can get pretty intense sometimes! We can laugh about it after, but in the moment we’re going for it!
Jimi: And when the girls are watching …
Phillip: He turns the bravado on!
Jimi: If [wife and bandmate] Karen steps up, I want to play my best. It’s like, “Yeah, Karen, look at this specimen you got here! Look at this athleticism.” Okay, I’m kidding, I’m really not that full of myself.
STEPHEN BARKER LILES & ERIC GUNDERSON
LOVE AND THEFT
Eric: Playing golf really is one of our favorite things to do.
Stephen: Eric’s got a much better swing than me. I swing like I’m trying to hit a home run.
Eric: I’ve never seen someone’s left knee hit the ground when they’re trying to hit a golf ball! My swing is a lot more technically sound, but it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference.
Stephen: By the ninth hole we’re so frustrated, we just start shotgunning beers.
BRIAN KELLEY & TYLER HUBBARD
FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE
Brian: We go golfing, play tennis, football, baseball, basketball, Ping-Pong, pool, we have bowling nights, we just started longboard skateboarding …
Tyler: We always make time for sports on the road!
Brian: We don’t eat healthy. We have McDonald’s at least once a day.
Tyler: So we’re all about staying active, whether it’s running the stairs at the arena, pumping iron or playing some ball. We learned to mix it up.
Brian: But we’re always on the same team. We don’t like to be separated. We’re best friends and we’re going for total world domination!
