A Charmed Wedding

A bird’s nest served as a ring pillow, hay bales became tables during cocktail hour, and the grassy aisle was strewn with cream rose petals: Down-home country elements were more than mere decor at the Aug. 15 wedding of Alyssa Milano, 36, and Hollywood agent David Bugliari, 30. “Every detail was a reflection of our love for family and nature,” says Milano. “We wanted a laid-back event with a relaxed feel.”

Despite her preparations, when it was time to say “I do,” the veteran actress, who got her start at age 11 on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? and later starred in the hit series Charmed, actually felt stage fright. “Having everyone’s eyes on me made me nervous!” she says with a laugh. But Milano needn’t have worried. “She looked utterly romantic,” says event planner Colin Cowie. “She moved down that aisle with great style. The moment David saw her, you could see tears in his eyes.”

The couple met almost five years ago at the offices of Creative Artists Agency, where Bugliari works. After first becoming friends, they began dating in 2006. “It was very seamless,” Milano says of leaving their platonic relationship behind. “It wasn’t even a conscious decision; it was one of those things that happened. David is sweet, loving, and he keeps me laughing.”

Held on a grassy field at the 39-acre New Jersey estate of Bugliari’s family, the traditional ceremony was performed by an Episcopalian priest and included a reading by actor Bradley Cooper, a friend and client of the groom’s. Afterward the newlyweds and their 175 guests headed for a nearby tent decorated with farm tables and wrought-iron chandeliers for the reception, which lasted until 2:30 a.m. When the couple left, “they were radiant as light bulbs, with smiles wrapped around their faces,” says Cowie. “I predict they’ll be together forever.”
