SHARON STONE OFFERED THE AUDIENCE a choice of basic instincts. First she came out as a dominatrix (in a studded collar), and later as an angel (in a gold lamé gown and halo). But the biggest splash at Thierry Mugler’s benefit fashion show in Los Angeles last week was made by Daryl Hannah in a très sheer fluorescent crinoline over a fishnet bodysuit.

The gala, which raised more than $500,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles, also featured Michelle Phillips and Linda Hamilton modeling little numbers from Mugler’s fall line, along with his greatest hits. But not everyone was eager to buy. “It’s not the lifestyle I lead,” confessed Phillips. “I’m a Pic ‘N’ Save gal.”
