1. FAMILY SUPPORT
When I told them I was dropping out of college to be a musician, they believed in me from the get-go. That’s rare. Though my mom did have a couple of “He could have been a doctor!” moments.
2. MY STEPDAD
He’s the ultimate tough guy: He could nearly cut his arm off working construction, and he’d duct-tape it back together. He’s that guy. But he’s also the guy that sends my mom flowers randomly at work. He’s just someone I look up to. He was diagnosed with lung cancer a couple of years ago, but they found it early and now he’s in the clear. I’m very thankful he’s still around.
3. MY FANS
There was a point early on in my career where my singles failed at radio and I thought I might lose my record deal, but I had a bunch of die-hard fans that just never went away. They’re a big part of the reason why I still have a job now.
Thank you, Lord, for giving us football. I just love football.
5. GOLDEN TEE GOLF
It’s a virtual golf game you play with a track ball. I can’t tell you how many hours of my life I’ve wasted playing it. They have it at bars and restaurants, and we go find places just to play it. It’s my stress-reliever, and I’m in love with it.
6. RED BULL SUGARFREE
I’m just not a morning person.
