Gorgeous wife, beautiful kid and a big acting award for his latest movie? Ben Affleck swears he’s not letting it all go to his head. “I’m just really lucky, honestly,” said the 34-year-old actor as he stepped out of a gleaming Bentley for the opening of Hollywoodland on Sept. 7. No argument there. Arriving with a radiant Jennifer Garner, 34, by his side, Affleck seemed to revel in all the attention at the movie’s premiere in Beverly Hills. (While he greeted fans and press on the red carpet, Garner discreetly stepped to the side and slipped into the theater.) Two days later he had even more to smile about: His tender portrayal of TV Superman George Reeves won the best-actor award at the Venice Film Festival. Hollywoodland is Affleck’s first film since the birth of daughter Violet, 9 months. But the actor says he’s in no hurry to grab “the golden ring” of a big-budget action movie, preferring to “keep things quiet” and spend time with Violet, one super smusher of oatmeal, peaches and pears. “I love being a father,” says Affleck. After all, what is a golden ring compared with a mush-filled spoon?
