Then after a week, you’re trying to make yourself forget about it—I was like, ‘I didn’t get it, I definitely didn’t get it.'” Actually he did, and better yet, there were roles for his brothers too. “Kevin’s character is not too bright in the head,” reports Joe, “and Nick’s more of a bossy character, which he is in real life.” The brothers play Shane’s bandmates who force him to teach music at a summer camp to punish him for his diva-ish behavior. Of course, Shane is nothing like the guy playing him. Reports Camp director Matthew Diamond: “Joe took the role really seriously. I was surprised by how rich his acting abilities are, and of course he’s got enormous charisma.” backstage at CAMP ROCK AGE: 15 BIRTHDAY: AUGUST 20 ZODIAC SIGN: LEO meet joe’s camp rock girl DEMI LOVATO As Mitchie, the shy girl with a killer voice in Camp Rock, Lovato lives out every girl’s dream—capturing the heart of Joe Jonas. But the actress and singer, who grew up in Colleyville, Texas, with her parents and two sisters, Dallas, 20, and Madison, 6, isn’t done with the Jonas clan just yet. Her to-do list? Move to Los Angeles, wrap up a debut solo album and open for the Jonas Brothers’ The Burning Up Tour. “I can’t wait to see what happens,” she says. THE SCOOP ON THE BOYS“Joe is a big dork. Nick is witty and sarcastic—sometimes I think he’s the funniest. Kevin plays the older-brother role. They’re all really, really great.” HOW SHE’S LIKE HER CHARACTER“We’re figuring out who we are. I used to be insecure. I didn’t really know where I fit in until I found music.” DANCE PARTY“Every person in Camp Rock was staying at the same hotel. The brothers would always hold a party in their room. They’re like, ‘Hey, Demi! Dance party, my room, five minutes!’ It was fun.” ROLE MODEL “Kelly Clarkson is my all-time idol. She is a phenomenal singer.” BLOOPER REEL “In rehearsals, Joe was dancing onstage and he didn’t notice where he was going. He completely dances off the stage and just falls. It’s one of those moments that, every time I think about it, I just laugh.” The jonas brothers GET REAL! The Jonas Brothers’ new reality show, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, gives viewers a chance to follow the boys backstage and on the road. Why do a reality show? “Fans watching will see that we’re just normal guys who love what we do,” says Kevin. Just how normal? “These boys are rock stars, but they still do chores,” says their dad and comanager, Kevin Sr. “It’s just that their house is a bus. You can’t cut the grass but you still have to make your bed and clean up after yourself.”
