RENATO CAMPORA SECRETS FROM A CELEB STYLIST

Hollywood’s go-to hair guru–he did all the styles on this page–shares his tricks for dazzling dos

GREAT WAVES

For bounce that lasts, Campora suggests letting curled hair set in pin curls for 5 to 10 minutes.

SLEEK STRANDS

“Flat ironing hair in small sections will achieve an extremely straight look,” says Campora.

CHIC CHIGNON

Miller’s versatile style works with denim or a dress, says Campora.

• Body and shine are musts for a beautiful-looking mane…

If you don’t prep the hair with the right products, you’re risking that the style will fall quickly and lack shine. To create volume and hold, use mousse from roots to ends on clean, wet hair. To give hair shine, apply a pea-size amount of glossing cream to the ends of wet hair. The heat from the blow-dryer will lock in the shine.

• A side part will make any look modern…

It will not only update your style, but your hair will also appear thicker.

• Invest in a quality flat iron…

To achieve salon-like sleekness you need a good iron. Look for one with ceramic plates that delivers high heat (at least 350 degrees).

• Consider an everyday updo…

It’s refreshing. If Sienna Miller‘s bun (above) looks too complicated, simply twist your pony into a knot and pin it up. Updos not only give you an extra day between shampoos, but they’re a good fix for a bad hair day. They also make a casual outfit feel a bit more sophisticated.

MAGNETIC POLISHES MAKE WAVES!

Nail-art devotees will love this latest trend in textured nails. The technology works by holding a magnet (usually placed in the bottle’s cap or sold separately) over a wet nail for 5-10 seconds until the polish begins to shift, creating a 3D-like effect.
