Who says girls can’t catch?

Mandy Hansen recently joined the all-male Deadliest Catch crew, and is putting her skills and fears to the test.

“I think I’m going to be cold. I think I’m going to puke. I think I’m going to be confused. I’m just trying my best to fit in and find my spot,” Hansen, 18, says as she settles into The Northwestern in this exclusive clip.

Sig Hansen, her father and the ship’s captain, says Mandy has the power of persuasion.

“I didn’t think she could ever talk Mom into this, but she did,” Sig says.

Sig’s younger brother Edgar Hansen reveals that Sig feels uneasy having Mandy on board.

“Sig told me on the side … ‘Make her not want to come back, please,’ ” says Edgar, the relief skipper and deck boss. “I’ve got my orders. But at the same time, she is a Hansen. We’ll see what she’s got, see what kind of mud she’s made of. Or, she may not want to ever be a Hansen by the time she leaves this boat.”

See if Mandy proves herself on the ship in Tuesday’s episode, airing at 9 p.m. on Discovery.
