At this year’s VMAs, Kanye West was given the Video Vanguard Award – by none other than Taylor Swift.

And unlike last year’s recipient, Beyoncé, he decided to celebrate not with an (epic) performance, but with a long-winded speech that covered a variety of topics: his 2009 VMA altercation with Swift, grocery store trips with North, his age (he’s a self-declared millennial) and his, ahem, pre-show rituals, too.
