Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s 18 children at home haven’t been able to visit micro preemie sister Josie in the hospital since her birth. But thanks to regular iPhone recordings, the family has been (virtually) spending time with the baby.

On an episode of 19 Kids and Counting scheduled to air Tuesday night on TLC, the Duggars show their children how healthy and big Josie is getting as the tiny girl sleeps soundly.

“Hey kids, we’re here with Josie. She’s doing very well today,” says Jim Bob, 44. “She’s laying here, just kind of snoozing. You can see her in the background.”

The baby hasn’t had any visits from her brothers and sisters since shortly after she was born Dec. 10 weighing just over a pound, explains Michelle, 43. So the videos she and her husband take help them stay involved. “Because it’s flu season, they’re not allowed to go visit,” she says. “They’ve really felt like in a way they’ve gotten to watch her progress.”

Their son Josiah says it’s “fun” to see the tapes his parents bring home. “My dad and mom, they are very good at updating us with Josie and giving us the latest reports about her condition,” he says. — Catherine Donaldson-Evans
