The Veep meets the V.P.
In an inspired seating arrangement at Tuesday’s White House State Dinner, Vice President Joe Biden was placed next to Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays one on HBO’s Veep.
“That was an unforgettable evening,” the actress wrote alongside a photo of herself and Biden that she Tweeted from the dinner honoring French President Francois Hollande. “Thank u @JoeBiden @BarackObama @MichelleObama”
The real and reel V.P.s also managed to convey they shared a fun evening together.
Asked by reporters for her favorite part of the night, Louis-Dreyfus pointed at Biden and quipped, “Look who I’m sitting next to.”
According to the Huffington Post, Biden chimed in, “Hey, stop screwin’ around, she’s my date! Just kidding.”
A number of Washington and Hollywood VIPs, including Bradley Cooper and Stephen Colbert, were present at President Obama’s first state dinner of his second term, where first lady Michelle Obama wowed the crowd in a Carolina Herrera gown.
Season 3 of Veep premieres April 6 on HBO – and we have a strong feeling the 47th vice president of the United States might just be watching.
