Val Chmerkovskiy Plays Coy on Amber Rose Romance Rumors: ‘I’d Make a Cute Couple With a Lot of People’

Updated

Amber Rose enjoyed a night out at the Ace of Diamonds strip club in West Hollywood, California on Monday — while her rumored beau Val Chmerkovskiy spoke out about whether they were actually romantically involved.

Dressed in a pair of skin-tight jeans and a low-cut black halter top, the 33-year-old talk show host was cool as can be. Wearing her signature shades, Rose accessorized her look with a pair of above the knee black suede boots.

Though she was eliminated earlier than she hoped from Dancing with the Stars, Rose may have found a romantic connection with the brother of her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The two got cozy during her glitzy 33rd birthday over the weekend — sharing adorable photos of their time together on Instagram.

But Val was less talkative when asked about Rose.

“I’d make a cute couple with a lot of people, you know what I’m sayin’?” the 30-year-old Ukrainian dancer joked to ET — adding that he often posts photos with his 16-year-old partner Laurie Hernandez too and “thankfully, there’s no romance rumors there!”

“I can’t control what people think,” he added. “I live my life and I try to live it, you know, the way I want to live it.”

He also took time to praise Rose’s run on the show.

“I’m proud of Amber for coming in and embracing the process and doing her very best [while] looking great,” he gushed. “Obviously, because she was my brother’s partner especially, I was rooting for them.”

A source previously told PEOPLE that Rose and Chmerkovskiy have a lot of romantic potential.

“They met through Maks and really like each other,” the source revealed. “It’s very new, but it’s going well.”

What’s also going well? Val and Hernandez’s run on Dancing with the Stars. They continued to score on Monday — earning 34 points for their 1960s-set Quickstep.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
