Country star Trisha Yearwood has a new cooking show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, which will debut this spring on the Food Network (April 14, 10:30 p.m. ET).
Shot in Nashville, the series will take viewers into Yearwood’s kitchen as she serves up traditional dishes from her childhood, provides tips on lightening up standard Southern dishes and entertains friends and family, according to a Food Network release. The Grammy-Award winner will also share her techniques for whipping up some of her favorite recipes, such as Daddy’s Barbecued Chicken and Uncle Wilson’s Famous Baked Onions.
“For me, cooking is very connected to my family and friends,” says Yearwood in a statement. “Every recipe on the show carries wonderful memories with my loved ones – and I can’t wait to share my meals, stories and family photos with Food Network viewers.”
Cooking has been a long-time passion for Yearwood. Aside from preparing meals for husband Garth Brooks and her three stepdaughters, she’s also published two best-selling cookbooks.
