Treasure Quest: Snake Island's Mehgan Heaney-Grier Faces Off with Deadly Venomous Snake

Updated

Mehgan Heaney-Grier has found herself in quite the deadly situation.

In an exclusive sneak peek at the new season of Treasure Quest: Snake Island, the adventurer nearly trips over a “Jarara,” an extremely deadly snake and runs the risk of getting attacked.

“I’m like right in striking zone, you guys. Please don’t box it in,” Heaney-Grier says to her crew.

“It’s a Jarara,” one guide says.

“It’s one of the most poisonous snakes here in the area,” says another. “All the back of the head is full of deadly poison.”

As the crew works to figure out a plan, Heaney-Grier gets even more nervous about being bit.

“I can’t move. This thing can lunge like seven feet,” she tells them.

“This thing could kill her,” one hunter says. “No joke.”

Snake Island screen grab

The new season will feature the treasure hunter embarking on a new mission to find a historic artifact as the hunt for the legendary Treasure of the Trinity and the hoard of Inca gold, worth nearly $400 million, continues.

Treasure Quest: Snake Island returns Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery Channel.
