When Evelyn Braxton faces a health crisis, her daughters put their differences aside and rally around their mother.
“They had to take me to the hospital because I had a small stroke,” Evelyn, 68, says in a Braxton Family Values preview clip exclusive to PEOPLE. “My face got numb.”
“She is an older woman who don’t need to be by herself right now,” daughter Tamar tells her sisters in the clip, which is the first footage released from the WE reality show’s upcoming fifth season.
“She could have a series of strokes,” adds Tamar’s sister Toni. “That could be bad.”
After processing the news, the sisters have a heart-to-heart as they prepare for the possibility of a future health crisis.
“We have to make sure our relationship is solid between all of us,” says Tamar. “Whatever issues anybody has, I feel like it has to be worked out.”
Season 5 of Braxton Family Values May 19 (at 9 p.m. ET) on WE.
