Tom Hanks Plays a Right-wing Trump Supporter Who Does Surprisingly Well on SNL's 'Black Jeopardy'

Updated

Saturday Night Live brought a new installment of “Black Jeopardy” this weekend with host Tom Hanks playing a Donald Trump supporter who somehow finds himself as a contestant on the mock game show.

While the sight of America’s Dad donning a red “Make America Great Again” hat and a bald eagle T-shirt named Doug next to two African-American contestants is enough to make anyone shudder at what will come next, Doug is shockingly up-to-date when it comes to categories such as “Big Girls,” “Mm…I Don’t Know” and “You Better.”

Host Darnell Hayes (Keenan Thompson) and contestants Keeley (Sasheer Zamata) and Shanice (Leslie Jones) were pleasantly surprised by Doug’s accurate answers.

When responding to one question about scanning your thumbprint into your iPhone for “protection,” Doug correctly replies, “What is, I don’t think so that’s how they get you?”

Hayes even goes over to Doug to shake his hand after one answer, although the contestant is at first hesitant to do so.

Everything is going well until the final category comes up on the board: “Lives That Matter.”

“It was good while it lasted, Doug,” says Thompson’s character.
