“I’m having a little botox,” Guthrie, 43, said Friday, reclining on a chair, ready to undergo the procedure.
Today recently reported that non-invasive procedures are among the newest trends in plastic surgery to halt the effects of aging. On Friday, Daly, 42, and Guthrie put the trend to the test.
The anchors were joined by Dr. Amy Wechsler, a board-certified dermatologist and psychiatrist, for the procedure described as a “nip and tuck without the knife.”

Daly opted for the injections because of his deep laugh lines, while Guthrie though she had botox injections done years ago, she didn’t like them and “thought it would be fun to try it” on the air. Fellow anchor Matt Lauer chimed in, telling viewers that botox should never be done “just for fun.”
The procedure took a few minutes, but Wechsler said the fillers, made from a substance found naturally in the skin and joints, won’t kick in for about two weeks.
“You won’t be able to frown too hard,” she told Guthrie.
