The cast of This Is Us sat down with PEOPLE ahead of the big Tuesday night premiere and revealed what fans could expect from the soon-to-be hit show.
“We’re going to make you cry, we’re going to make you laugh,” Justin Hartley said of the show.
On This Is Us, there’s tons of laughter,” Milo Ventimiglia, 39, added.
“There’s some pain,” admitted Mandy Moore, 32. “It sort of highlights the the painful moments in life. It’s about relationships and family … about brothers, sisters, parents and having babies.”
“There’s a lot of love on it,” Susan Kelechi Watson revealed. “There’s a lot of love.”
“[There’s] all of these different things happening all at the same time and we’re all just trying to keep our heads about water,” Sterling K. Brown said of the show’s characters. “But in the midst of it, life in general, there is laughter. You crack up at things … there’s pain. So you are going to cry a lot too, but in the midst of it all, there’s a great deal of hope.”
“If you ever lived your life and experienced anything at all … come and laugh with us,” 39-year-old Hartley added. “If you ever had a birthday, come laugh with us and cry with us. We would love to have you.”
This Is Us premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
