It’s another surprising outcome on Wednesday’s episode of The Briefcase.

This week’s show features the Wylies, a Christian family from a small Texas town, and the Bailey-Stewarts, a same-sex couple from Massachusetts.

As in previous episodes, both families are struggling financially when they are handed a briefcase containing $101,000 and told they can keep all the money or give it to the other family in need. Throughout the episode, they learn more about the other family before making their final decision.

In an exclusive clip, Matt Wylie, 44, is having a slightly awkward conversation with his youngest daughter, Haley, 16, about what they should do with the money.

While out hunting, Wylie tells his daughter the other family is a lesbian couple who have “tried for the last five years to have a kid using in vitro fertilization but can’t afford to keep doing it.”

Haley says she doesn’t know what IVF is, to which her father responds, “that’s like artificial insemination.”

He then asks her thoughts on two women trying to have a baby.

“To me, one man and one woman is what the Bible says, but I don’t have a problem with them being a lesbian couple,” she says. “I would help them out.”

The Briefcase airs Wednesdays (8 p.m. ET) on CBS.
