Despite legal trouble that resulted in Teresa Giudice pleading guilty to four counts of fraud, the reality star had no hesitations about returning to the Real Housewives of New Jersey amid the ongoing court case.
“Now I m in it and I don’t want to stop,” Teresa told PEOPLE of her five-year run on the reality series. “This is my job and I want to keep going.”
“We are mourning, and it s just been devastating,” she says. “I feel bad for my husband and I m just trying to be there for him and my kids. He was so close to us, and it happened at our house, so it s just a lot to handle.”
While Teresa and Joe’s legal drama will play out on the show, premiering on Bravo Sunday at 8 p.m., returning castmate Dina Manzo says that even if Teresa wanted to walk away from the show, it wouldn’t be easy.
“She would be in it no matter what,” says Manzo, who was in seasons one and two. “It’s like me. I left but I was always part of it, so whether you are there or not, you are going to be talked about and scrutinized.”
As Teresa prepares to be sentenced alongside her husband in September, the mom of four is doing her best to focus on her family.
“Waking up every morning looking at my beautiful daughters, I am always grateful,” she says. That s what keeps me going and gives me my strength. I have a wonderful husband and that s why I am the rock that I am.”
