“I was joking that I thought I needed to learn to cook a few things because my skills in the kitchen are pretty minimal,” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “But I’m never home. I am always out. It’s a whole new world.”
With her divorce officially behind her (the couple reached an amicable settlement in July), March’s life has never been busier both personally and professionally.
She stars on Adult Swim’s new series Neon Joe as the mayor of a town over run by werewolves, and she’s opening the second location for her professional makeup salon Rouge NY.
“I have all these great friends, and work is going really well. I feel incredibly lucky,” she says. “And I am having a great time.”
But March admits going through her public divorce from Flay wasn’t easy: “I have grown a lot as a person over the last year,” she says.
“The best advice I got was keep you head high and keep your eyes focused on your family and your friends and don’t pay attention to the rest,” she adds. “I have a really strong support network people who I just love.”
Neon Joe Werewolf Hunter premieres Monday at midnight ET on Adult Swim.
