Rosende consumes blood as human-turned-vampire Simon Lewis, but off-screen, he's a self-proclaimed "cookie monster." "I have a giant sweet tooth," the Miami native tells PEOPLE. "Homemade cookies are always better, but I grew up in Florida and there's a grocery store called Publix, and the Publix sprinkled cookie will forever be my favorite cookies."
When he's not snacking, the New York University grad enjoys reading. "I think the world would be a better place if the world was well read," says Rosende, who started a book club on Instagram earlier this year. "If I could help a kid to be more interested in reading, or to discover learning isn’t what it has to be in school, it can be fun and you can do it on your own."

Inspired by the time he spent in Kenya as a teenager, the Brit wants to open self-sustaining villages in developing countries. "Essentially a small town encapsulating schools, housing and medical care if it's needed," Sherwood explains. "That’s something I've been working on with an engineer friend of mine for the last couple months to try and put it into place. Before I die I'd like that to be set up with a view to it continuing on."

Harry Shum Jr.
As a 400-year-old warlock on the show based on a beloved YA series, Shum Jr. has encountered countless devoted fans. But he witnessed the ultimate — and most unlikely — example of fangirling during his time as a backup dancer for Beyoncé.
"I was at Madison Square Garden and we were doing 'Crazy in Love,' and I remember these two guys, they were in tank tops and just sat there and didn't move the whole concert," he recalls. "The moment you heard JAY-Z, he came up from the ground up, and literally they started screaming and waving their hands and jumping." Moving into roles on Glee and the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians film adaptation, Shum Jr. says he misses those kinds of immediate responses. "When you make a movie and you do a TV show, you don’t really see the real reactions," he says. "That was the coolest moment."

The dad to a teenage daughter considers fellow actor Terry Crews one of his best friends. So he was completely caught off guard when, "Someone told me one time they heard me and Terry Crews got in a fight," the former Old Spice spokesperson says. "I'm like, 'First of all do you think I'd be standing here if I fought Terry Crews? The man's huge! He'd like bounce me off a peck or something.' " While the two were pitted against each other in a commercial for the deodorant, that's the closest the pals came to butting heads. "I'm like, 'No we didn’t fight. What are you talking about?,' " Mustafa continues. "The dude's like my brother."

"I've never really worked out," the New York City native claims. "I always just played sports." While he counts basketball and baseball among his favorites to watch, Daddario says, "I can't stop myself" when he's the one on the court or field. "I can go for three hours playing sports," he says. "But if I'm just running or something, 20 minutes later, I'm like, this is boring. But if I'm playing, it goes until I'm injured."

During the first two seasons of the fantasy series, the cast would lighten the mood with on-set pranks. "But we avoid pranks nowadays because the fear of reprisal is so significant," Daddario says. "Each of us is ready to go nuclear with the counter-prank. It's like a nuclear stalemate." The cast's top offender? Sherwood. "Dom loves to scare Kat [McNamara]. And it's really funny because she falls for it every single time," Shum Jr. reveals. "Although Isaiah did get Dom once and literally scared him to death. It was hilarious and we caught it on tape." Now to unwind, Sherwood says, "We go out on the weekends and spend time with each other, completely unrelated to the show."
